This GPS-supported, handheld golf computer features a 3" color touchscreen display that shows you precise yardage distance to the front, back, and middle of greens. You can even preview course details before you play—see doglegs, traps, pin positioning, and more before you step into the tee box. Other useful features include PlaysLike Distance, which accounts for changes in course elevation by showing the adjusted distance to the green, PinPointer blind shot assistance, club selection advice, and more.

All yardage and course data comes preloaded on the Approach G8. To ensure your information is up to date and correct, every Approach includes free lifetime course updates through Garmin Express—Garmin's free device-management software. Course updates are added up to 4 times a year.

Use the Approach's digital scorecard and stat-keeping capabilities to track your performance as you play. The Approach can be set to use stroke play (medal play), Stableford, skins, or the match play scoring system. It features handicap scoring options, which enable you to either enter a player's local handicap or determine the handicap using the index/slope method. When you've finished golfing, you can upload and view all your saved scorecards on Garmin Connect, Garmin's free community site where you can track, review, analyze, and share all your golfing data. Additionally, thanks to the G8's Wi-Fi connectivity, you can automatically upload data to Garmin Connect and even update the firmware and course information, without being tethered to a computer.

Engineered with golfers in mind, the Approach G8's touchscreen is designed to be both glove-friendly and sunlight readable. You'll no longer struggle to see or access the data you need. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 15 hours in GPS mode, enough for a full day of golf. In case you are on the course all day, the Approach G8 is Bluetooth-enabled, so it can receive call, text, and email alerts from compatible smartphones.
