It features an edge-to-edge screen and is equipped with HP's security and manageability solutions, making it suitable for those who are traveling. The EliteBook 1030 G1 is powered by a 1.1 GHz Intel Core m5-6Y54 Dual-Core processor, which can be boosted to 2.7 GHz using Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The 8GB of 1866 MHz LPDDR3 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. As the memory is soldered to the motherboard, no upgrades are possible.

The 13.3" UWVA IPS anti-glare display features a Full HD 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 300 cd/m² brightness, a 1000:1 typical contrast ratio, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, 166 ppi, and viewing angles of 89°. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), a Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) licenses is included, as is Windows 10 Pro recovery media.
