The Bounty Hunter Junior Target I.D. is designed to be a powerful yet simple and fun detector for kids. There are only two buttons. To turn the detector on, simply press and hold the on/off button. The DISC button stands for "Discriminate" and can be used to eliminate trash.
Know what's buried before you dig with three emojis. The sad emoji on the LCD display indicates that it's probably trash, including iron nails, screws, bolts, and some large iron objects such as horseshoes. The questioning emoji means you may have found something good, including gold, jewelry, zinc pennies, or U.S. nickles, or it could be trash, including pull tabs, screw tabs, bottlecaps, and aluminum. The happy emoji suggests you found something really good; this includes coins and other high-value metals such as silver.
The detector tells you how deep the buried treasure is with a three-segment depth graph. One segment equals 0 to 2 inches, two segments equals 2 to 4 inches, and three segments indicates the buried treasure is more than 4 inches deep.
Accurate pinpointing takes practice. The detector comes with a user manual that describes the basics of metal detecting and offers some helpful tips for getting the most out of your metal detector.
